Hey I'm going on a cruise. (Independence of the Seas) What is the best thing to do on the cruise?

I'm excited and need help making an itinerary of things to do. 15 year old boy.............

Answer :
Well, as Bajan Princess said, it depends on what you like to do. Like to read, there's a library on board. Like to dance, there's a club up top. Like to sun, deck chairs all over the place. Like to swim, there's a pool. Etc. You have to be more specific.

Answer :
The most fun thing to do on our first cruise, was to enjoy all of the excursions. Check everything out before you go. Read what is offered and sign up online. Saves tons of time, and believe me, you will need that. You can snorkle, para sail, zip line, shop, the list goes on and on. As far as the ship itself, the late night intertainment is great. Oh one big thing that we wished we would have done sooner was, have our pictures done. While on the ship they have photagraphers that give you a full sitting, if you like the pictures you can buy them. Every night was a different background. Only took a few minutes. Have fun. Also bring good sun screen!

Answer :
Well it depends on what you like to do. If you gave your cruise stops then it would have been easier to give you a few suggestions. You can go for a dip in the pool, check out the fitness room. Go to the top and check out the scnery and you can even get into water sports on the cruise!

You can ask this in the cruise section for better answers!

Have you been on Independence of the Seas Caribbean Cruise?

Should I bring my expensive SLR digital camera on this cruise? Who guards your belongings while you are at the beach? How safe are the excursions? Belize City, Costa Maya, Cozumel?

Answer :
You definitely want a camera. Guard your belongings? Im assuming you mean while your in the water? Its just like going to a normal beach, royal caribbean doesn't have crew members with you..your responsible for all your belongings. The excursions are usually very safe, because they are recommended by the cruise line and organized by the cruise line. they know when your boat leaves and where you need to get back too. making your own excursions is less safe. and can be dangerous. All of those destinations are Beautiful

Answer :
I have been on many cruises and always take my camera. While you are on ship you have two options for protecting your camera. You can lock it in your cabin safe (every cabin has one) or you can put it in your luggage and lock the luggage (store it under your bed.)

When you go to the beach you are/will be on your own to protect your belongings (unless you go to a beach that has lockers). You will have to count on friends and family to watch your "stuff". Most times the beaches are full of people from your ship but you still have to watch that your things do not "walk off".

Excursions are safe as the cruise line takes care to select reputable tour operators and they will not and do not take you into unsafe areas. In addition, the officials of countries that you visit know that they make their money off of the tourist trade and they provide enough police protection and patrols to keep criminal elements away (for the most part). You still have to be on guard and not leave things laying around.

I have been to Cozumel many times and also to Costa Maya. Had no problems whatsoever. I have the same cruise booked and will be going to the 3 ports you listed later this year on the Independence. I have cruised on the Freedom, which is an identical ship, and you will enjoy the cruise. Don't miss the free ice show.

Deck 5:

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis…

There is a Ben & Jerry's on that floor as well as many other shops. It's NOT FREE and you will have to present your room card. The cost of the yogurt is charged to your house account and at the end of the cruise, it is charged to the credit card on file.

There are workers in the shop, and no you can't serve yourself.

Average taste. There is nothing to write to Mom about.

Usually the promenade opens at 8am and closes around 11pm.

There are soft serve ice cream machines in the dining room/cafeteria located on Deck 4.
