What is the procedure to build a ship?

I was amazed to read about "MS Independence of the Seas". So wanted to know.

well to build a ship is like building a boat but alot more complex and expensive, i would start buy building a small skiff unless of course your a millionaire and can afford to do it. anyway try some simple techniques first by building a small boat. you can do it with a technique called stich and glue which is literal, or even better you can try fiberglass. but in essence you would first build your hull frame just as most any machine or building. first cut you some boards in the shape of the hull and frame it up with supports etc, then lay marine plywood over it. then sealing it can take several approaches as well. you can even use tar like the old days. now if you want to be pratical and really build a boat i would go stich and glue to start then go composite with fiberglass which is what the ships these days use. again try to build a skiff or rowboat first ,lots of info online for this too
